Hompage - 1 year online

As of today this Homepage is online for exactly 1 year!

I'm proud to see that this page had

19450 clicks
from 63 different countries

so far.

I think that's not bad for a private Homepage.

During the last year many things have changed here. I have installed a lot of new services, changes some software and did a lot of configuration to set up everything the way it should be. The calendar and the forum are very well used and visited and these are the main components of this page.

At the moment I want to work on the Photo and Download areas.

I want to mention, that this page is available in 2 languages, German and English. As I have got a lot of friends and registered users from all around the world, its worth the work to offer all the content in two languages.

I want to say thank you to everyone who has been visiting my page, helping me with the translation and for contributing to this page.

It would be great to get some more visits, feedback and/or suggestions.

I really love to keep this page updated and I'm looking forward to talk to you or read from you here on my page.

Welcome to my new Homepage!

After some time my Homepage is again online since Friday, 16.01.2009.

As you can see this page has a new design and a lot of new content. Check back often, as updates to these pages will take place frequently.

The main reason for the updated page is that I decided to use a CMS (Content Management System) now. Therefore, it is easier for me to add new articles and keep this page up to date.

Diana came across a interesting page some weeks ago "Samtpfoten Katzenhilfe Ries e.V."

These people care about abandoned cats.

Members care about injured or battered cats and try to find a good and new home for these cats. During the first time the cats have foster homes. Foster families pay for everything needed by the cats.

You can help by:

becoming a member
offer a home to the cats
offer a godparenthood
donations
telephone duty

User Groups

From now on I have User Groups implemented here on my Homepage.

What is this?

Well, it is easy, registered members can create or join certain user groups. Doing so, members of a certain user group have their own bulletin board and there is a own user group forum. This means members of a certain group are able to read and write to the board or in the forum. Only members of the same group can read and write there.

So every group has a certain place to communicate only with group members, without others being abel to read and write their posts!

I have already created some groups. Just have a look at the main menu and click on "User Groups".

As I have already said, every registered member here is allowed to create a group!

There are different group types:

When creating a group you can allow everyone to join the group, you can set the group to "invitations only" what means that only invited members can join the group (invitations can be sent from the group page!). And the last group type sets the group to authorisation, so a member can click to join teh group but must be approved from the group admin in order to become a member.

Anyway, just click on "User Groups", have a look at it and try it out!

GPS Tracks for Up- and Doenload

There is a new item in the main menu:

GPS Tracks

Every registered user can up- or download GPS-Tracks from this page. You can also have a look at the already uploaded tracks there. They will show up in GoogleMaps.

At the moment there are categories for hiking mountain biking and motorbike tours. Just have a look at it!

There is a comment and rating system for the GPS Tracks.

If you have a good tour to share, no matter where in the world, its very easy to upload it. Only thing you need is a GPS-File! Click add a new track, fill in the fields, look for the GPS-File for upload, if you want you can also add some pictures of your tour - done

The best thing about it:

You can download all the tracks from my page as a GPS file. You can put this file on your mobile or navigation device and start the tour right away!

I would be happy to get some good tracks from you all here!
